Summer is over and we’re excited to announce all our plans for this autumn! It includes several touring dates for our performances The Virus, Coco Chanel, The Kitchen and A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football, as well as a brand new premiere, Salve Regina, made together with Oslo Dance Ensemble.
We have closed our office in July, to enjoy the Norwegian summer of refreshing swims, mountain walks and generous portions of ice cream. But still, from 19–21 July our Football crew will take a break from their holidays to join Colours International Dance Festival in Stuttgart. Enjoy your summer!
Yes! Our exquisite American cast of actors is back in Oslo to do a second run of A Dolls House at The Norwegian Opera and Ballet. This sensuous, contemporary and cut-to-the bone version of Ibsen’s classic play got great reviews when it premiered in Philadelphia, and after the Opera it goes on to play one show at The Arctic Arts Festival in Harstad. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours now!
Our puppet performance, Coco Chanel, made with our Dutch co-producers Ulrike Quade Company, has been on an intensive tour of the Netherlands this spring. The last show before the summer takes them abroad, to Czech Republic and Move Fest in Ostrava, where they perform Monday 29th May.
The Wijk Jury, a group of twelve Amsterdammers who had never before been to the theatre, has named our coproduction with Ulrike Quade Company, the puppet theatre performance Coco Chanel, the best show this season. The prize is that the performance will be shown at the Nederlands Theater Festival this September.
Saturday 6th May our brand new dance film Closed will premiere on Norwegian television. Closed is a new dance movie by Jo Strømgren and Stein Roger Bull, following up the Rose d’Or winning The Neighbour. Featuring cellist Truls Mørk and collaborating dance companies 420people (Prague) and KAGE (Melbourne).

20th of February is the first day of rehearsals for our new co-production Coco Chanel with Ulrike Quade Company in Amsterdam. We are super exited about making this piece about this icon of the modern woman, who said: “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.”
From 27th to 31st January we will be in Iran with our performance There, performing four times at 35th Fadjr International Theatre Festival in Tehran. We are excited to be part of this major cultural event in Iran.
2017 kicks off with a trip to New York for our managing director Sunniva Steine. From 7th to 10th January she will be in New York as part of a delegation from the Norwegian performing arts scene, promoting both brand new works and current touring productions by Jo Strømgren Kompani.
