A Norwegian dance theater company with a large, global distribution

JO STRØMGREN KOMPANI (JSK) was founded in 1998 and from its base in Norway it has grown to become one of the most successful independent groups in Scandinavia.

The company has created 56 productions, and the touring list covers 66 countries. 150-200 shows are performed annually in national theatres and alternative venues around the world. JSK’s home stage in Oslo is the Norwegian Opera House, where Jo Strømgren is House Choreographer.

The JSK style is characterized by a peculiar mix of dance and theatre, with a distinct humour combined with darker, political undertones. JSK offers a standing repertoire of 10-12 different performances, covering a broad range of genres.

No matter what form or genre, all performances are designed for smooth and flexible worldwide touring and can be adapted into almost any language.

JSK is also known for inspiring workshops, be it dance or theatre, or even for administrative personnel, as well as performances for young audiences.
