Last year JSK co-produced a show with Philadelphia Live Arts Festival with an all-American cast: The European Lesson. This June, The European Lesson is doing a Norwegian tour. It opens at The Bergen International Festival on the 2nd of June, and after that travels to Bærum Kulturhus and Porsgrunn International Theatre Festival. The Convent was awarded the The Golden Review Award of Editorial Office of the Official Journal at the Kontrapunkt Festival in Szczecin, Poland on the 26th of April.
Jo Strømgren Kompani travels to South Korea in the beginning of May to perform The Convent at the Uijeongbu Music Theatre Festival. The UMTF is one of South Korea’s leading festivals, and one of the few to promote international and contemporary music theatre. It’s the company’s first visit to South Korea, but JSK returns later this year to perform A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football at Seoul Performing Arts Festival.

After touring Norway extensively in autumn 2008, we now take POLAROID to new territory in USA, with a short stop-over in Denmark first.

Last year it was already 10 years since Jo Strømgren Kompani was officially founded. It has been 10 years of vigorous touring all over the world. Over the years the company has visited over 45 countries with over 15 different performances. Presently over 100 performances are played annually.
