NOMINATION FOR PRIX D’OR 2010
Our film THE NEIGHBOUR in collaboration with Nordisk Film has been nominated for the international television award Prix d’Or 2010 in Switzerland in the ”Art Documentary & Performing Arts” category.
NOMINATION FOR HEDDA AWARD
Ulrike Quade has been nominated for this year’s Norwegian Hedda Award in the ”Particular Artistic Achievement” category for her interpretation of THE WRITER. JSK has previously recieved the Hedda Award for THERE and GORRI-GORRI.
PREMIERE OF THE EXPERIMENT
Jo Strømgren Kompanis newest production “The Experiment” premiered in Rakvere, Estonia on May 3rd, and is now touring in the Baltics, Belarus, Russia and Poland. Norwegian premiere will be during Bergen International Festival on the 7th and 8th of June.
REHEARSING "THE EXPERIMENT"
Jo Strømgren Kompani is now preparing the 2010 production, ”The Experiment", on the theme of human test lab secrecy. The show is taking form as a grotesque but yet poetic portrayal of the horrors submitted by volunteers. The premiere is in Rakvere, Estonia on the 3rd of May with a following tour through the Baltics, Poland, Russia and Belarus. The first Norwegian stop is at the Bergen International Festival on the 7th and 8th of June.
The Neighbour premieres!
Jo Strømgrens dancefilm, The Neighbour will officially premiere on the 11th of March, during the dancefestival Tanzwelten 2010 in Braunschweig. It will show as a part of the dancefilmprogram running alongside the festival at the Staatstheater Braunschweig.
THE NEIGHBOUR is a film about man and woman, about single people, about the chance to start over again, about chances that are long gone. It is also a film about how music affects us, and how we affect music. It is a coproduction between JSK and Nordisk Film and TV, and features the dancers Line Tørmoen and Dimitri Jourde, and the world renowned pianist Leif Ove Andsnes.
THE SOCIETY EXCLUSIVE TOUR
Due to limited availiability, THE SOCIETY is only on tour for two months this year – to Norway, Sweden, Spain, and Australia. The busy Jan/Feb schedule covers Sandvika, Stavanger, Stockholm, Malmö, Málaga, Madrid, Albany, and Perth.
December: Both The Writer and A Dance Tribute in Oslo
EXTRA PERFORMANCE OF “A DANCE TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF FOOTBALL” ON TUESDAY 15.12 at DANSENS HUS
This December, Jo Strømgren Kompani will perform both The Writer and A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football in Oslo.
The Writer opens at Centralteatret on the 2. of Decemeber, for a run of 12 shows. A Dance Tribute will play at Dansens Hus from the 3rd of December, both daytime shows for schools, and open evening performances. Both shows are a part of the annual showcase Showbox

BANNING, BLOTTING OG STRIPPING
Det har vært debatt i media etter at ekteparet Oddrun og Nils Terje Aarsland fra Vigrestad Indremisjon i Rogaland gikk til pressen med anklager om ”banning”, ”blotting” og ”stripping” i forestillingen A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football. Vi tilbyr herved noen faktaopplysninger for elever, foreldre, lærere og arrangører involvert i vår turné for Den Kulturelle Skolesekken.
The Writer awarded at BITEF, catch the show in Florence!
Jo Strømgren Kompani and Ulrike Quade Productions won the Audience Award for The Writer at BITEF 2009!
The next opportunity to see the show will be this week at the Intercity Festival in Florence, where The Writer will be played on the 1st and the 2nd of October.

JSK is proud to annouce the we are a part of this years BITEF-festival in Serbia. We will perform The Writer as a part of the main programme, and we will also be a part of the festival programme in Novi Sad.
