2011 - CHEERS!!!

Despite economical crisis and international turbulance, JSK has managed to keep the pace as usual – 121 shows with 6 productions on tour in 14 countries in one year. These numbers are however notably lower than previous years due to the fact that JSK has spent time producing 2 new pieces this year. Thanks to all collaborators and audiences!

PING PONG PREMIERE IN FRANCE

A DANCE TRIBUTE TO PING PONG has its world premiere at Festival Automne en Normandie on Nov 17th in Pont-Audemer. A three show run is then followed by a show in Vernon on Nov 19th. More info here.

SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR

For the first time in many years, SA is on the schedule again. The international premiere of THE BORDER takes place at Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre in Durban and the legendary Market Theatre in Johannesburg. Check schedule for dates. THE SOCIETY has proven to be a success among audience, critics and programmers all over the world. We have now opened another exciting world tour with this performance. Success in Bristol

THE WRITER appeared at the Bristol Festival of Puppetry at the Tobacco Factory and received a bucket of great reviews. “By far one of the most inspiring pieces of theatre of the year.” according to Total Theatre Magazine. “A jaw-droppingly impressive production, an explosive performance, a heartrending story of love, misguided patriotism and betrayal: ‘The Writer’ is an excellent example of the immense possibilities of contemporary puppet-theatre.” as Venue put it and gave 5 stars.

PREMIERE OF THE BORDER

THE BORDER premieres on September 1st in Tromsø, Norway. The production is a collaboration with Hålogaland Teater, one of the northernmost institutional theaters in the world. A love relationship reflects the classic border dispute, adding a geopolitical angle to domestic problems. Norway and South Africa is scheduled this Fall. International touring to follow in 2012.

Touring Russia

“A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football” is completing an adventurous football season with a two weeks tour of Russia, visiting the cities of Lipetsk, Tambov, Rjazan and Krasnojarsk, Siberia.
