Jo Strømgren Kompani has been working in the North Atlantic area for several years. The initiative to the 2015 tour is based on our past collaborations with partners in this area, and this time we will send THE BORDER to visit the area. First out is The Faroe Islands.
This weekend the international premiere of our children’s performance THE KITCHEN will take place at Oulu Theatre Festival for Young Audiences. We are really extited to finally bring this successful production abroad!
We kick-start 2015 with ORIGIN OF SPECIES at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet in Oslo and at Tou Scene in Stavanger. THE KITCHEN embark on yet another school tour in Østfold, and there will be more chances to see CZTERDZIE?CI in Poland in January/February.
2014 has been an amazing year for JSK. A year filled with exciting touring adventures, inspiring collaborations and new creations. 11 different JSK productions have visited 16 different countries, with a total of over 260 performances.
This week we set off touring Trondheim with the Kitchen for the first two weeks of December. We are very much enjoying visiting the schools this cozy time of year.
During the next week both THE WRITER and THERE will be performed at Comedie de Caen during the 23rd edition of Festival Les Boréales.
Our co-production with Mungo Park, ORIGIN OF SPECIES, will tonight kick off another performance period in Denmark. And in January it can be seen at The Norwegian Opera and Ballet in Oslo and at Tou Scene in Stavanger.
Our performance THE BORDER is selected as 1 of 5 official theatre showcases at the CINARS Biennale 2014 – this week in Montreal, Canada. A 25 – minute excerpt will be shown at Monument-National November 21 at 06:00PM. We are excited!
Next week two of our FOOTBALL and PING PONG performers will be arranging the workshop A DANCE TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF SPORTS at Guangdong Dance Festival in Guangzhou, China. The workshop is in collaboration with Ibsen International and Ibsen in China.
The new cast of THERE received standing ovations at the premiere in Haugesund on Saturday! Now they’re off to visit Bratislava, Bytom and Caen during October and November. Come and join us for this exciting revival of one of our most successful productions!
