This week Jo Strømgren will travel to Prague to continue the rehearsals of A DANCE TRIBUTE TO PING PONG with our partner 420PEOPLE, and a TANECVALMEZ photo exhibition, including Knut Bry’s pictures from JSK productions, will open in Valašské Mezi?í?í.
This weekend we are back at Haugesund Teater, this time with our children’s performance THE KITCHEN. We are really looking forward to it! After that we continue our school tour in Sandefjord and Vestfold.
Next week JSK will finally visit Trondheim again, with the successful revival of THERE. We are really looking forward to a four-day run at Trøndelag Teater!
This week Anders Budde Christensen, Henrik Prip and Nicolai Jandorf will once again investigate Darwin’s theory of evolution in ORIGIN OF SPECIES. This acclaimed production can be seen at Mungo Park on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th March.
This week the original 2001 cast of THERE has started rehearsals at the Opera House. Thorbjørn Harr, Jan Ivar Lund, Espen Reboli Bjerke and Kyrre Texnæs can be seen at Scene 2 in June, re-doing the show they performed more than a 100 times, to great acclaim, in the early 2000s.
Get ready for the kickoff of another powerful celebration of the physical exuberance of football and dance! In HATTRICK, our coproduction with Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz (München), a 2015 version of JSK’s acclaimed football performance forms part of a dance evening circling around the myths and realities of football and masculinity.
This spring Jo Strømgren Kompani has a collaboration project with Czech dance company 420PEOPLE and the festival TANECVALMEZ, including both A DANCE TRIBUTE TO PING PONG and A DANCE TRIBUTE TO THE ART OF FOOTBALL.
After a fun week of workshops in Oslo at Spin OFF, the dancers of Polish Dance Theatre have gone back to Poznan. Today they start the spring tour of our coproduction Czterdziesci in Krosno. Saturday they perform in Krakow at the Malopolski Ogrod Sztuk. See our schedule for more dates!
Jo Strømgren Kompani has been working in the North Atlantic area for several years. The initiative to the 2015 tour is based on our past collaborations with partners in this area, and this time we will send THE BORDER to visit the area. First out is The Faroe Islands.
This weekend the international premiere of our children’s performance THE KITCHEN will take place at Oulu Theatre Festival for Young Audiences. We are really extited to finally bring this successful production abroad!
We kick-start 2015 with ORIGIN OF SPECIES at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet in Oslo and at Tou Scene in Stavanger. THE KITCHEN embark on yet another school tour in Østfold, and there will be more chances to see CZTERDZIE?CI in Poland in January/February.
