Norwegian Premiere with Bach as backdrop!

Jo Strømgren Kompani returns to the stage with The Cello, an exciting new dance performance premiering at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet.

The Cello explores Nordic identity through a kaleidoscope of emotions and memories, set against the timeless music of Bach’s cello suites.

Expect poetic passages, associative images and interaction between bodies and more during the performance of The Cello. The purpose? To give logic to movements and visual dramaturgy, similar to listening to classical music.

The Cello is a co-production between Jo Strømgren Kompani and the Silesian-Moravian National Ballet. A first version premiered in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in May 2024.
