Autumn plans

Summer is over and we’re excited to announce all our plans for this autumn! It includes several touring dates for our performances The Virus, Coco Chanel, The Kitchen and A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football, as well as a brand new premiere, Salve Regina, made together with Oslo Dance Ensemble.

Coco Chanel, our co-production with Ulrike Quade Company (The Netherlands), will perform at The Norwegian Opera & Ballet from 27th September to 1st October. Dutch magazine Theaterkrant called the performance “magic beyond words” and rewarded it 5 out of 5 stars. As a master of illusion Chanel consistently chose to mythologize herself. She controlled the way the world looked at her, while at the same time her fashion has become a symbol for emancipation. The performance Coco Chanel seeks to investigate the influence fashion has on our society. How a costume becomes a body and how a body becomes a puppet.

Our futuristic nonsensical dance-theatre production The Virus will in October and November embark on a Norwegian tour in collaboration with Bærum Kulturhus, regionalt kompetansesenter for dans and several Norwegian culture houses. It will perform both for the general public and for school classes, and we’re proud to continue our work of introducing dance to the younger generation through workshops, after talks and other activities in relation to the performances.

In December we premiere a brand new production made in collaboration with Oslo Dance Ensemble, Salve Regina. For the first time ODE is producing a full-evening performance, with both the time and the will to immerse in a uniform expression. The collaboration with JSK also means that the ensemble is launching itself internationally for the first time, and we’re excited to have this production on our touring repertoire both internationally and in Norway for the next years.

In addition we follow up our Football team’s successful visit to Stuttgart and Colours International Dance Festival this July with another trip to Germany and Festspiele Ludwigshafen in November. Our children’s production The Kitchen will also perform this autumn, at Hamar Kulturhus in October and at Sentralen, Oslo in November.
