Jo Strømgren
Artistic Director

Educated as a dancer. Freelance choreographer with a vast range of commissions for ballet companies and contemporary ensembles. Frequently engaged as a theatre director, predominantly with Henrik Ibsen plays. Member of the Writer’s Guild of Norway with a large number of plays produced by national and municipal theatres in Scandinavia.

Guri Glans
General Manager

Guri has been with the company since 2005, performing in The Hospital and The Convent.
She has her education from Ecole Jaques Lecoq and The Oslo College, Department of Arts and Drama. She has also run Teater Joker Theatre Company since 2000.

Solfrid Glesnes
Project Manager

College educated in Cultural Administration from the college of Telemark, Norway since 2000. Has a lot of experience in production work through working with different art- and music festivals; Bergen International Festival, Nattjazz, Bergenfest, Stavernfestivalen amongst others. Solfrid works also for the Municipality of Bergen. She is in charge of a youth project with focus on artistic- and cultural activities.


Stephen Rolfe
Lighting Designer/ Technical Director

Born in London. Worked from 1974- 1995 as a freelance Technical Manager and Lighting Designer for many theatres and theatre and dance companies in England, specialising in new writing, devised work and ground-breaking theatre and dance. Moved to Bergen, Norway in 1996, and since then has been very active as a freelance theatre Lighting Designer and Technical Manager. Has been with the company since the very start.

Lars Årdal
Sound Designer

Experience from numerous theatre productions, musicals and dance projects through collaborations with directors like Stein Winge, Svein Sturla Hungnes, and Harry Guttormsen. His sound designs also includes work for film and music. Member of the highly acclaimed industry rock band “Munch”. Has been with the company since the very start.

Ivar Mykland
Video Producer

Background as a construction worker. Also various activities related to a broad spectre of the performing arts since the mid-eighties. Double bachelor in social anthropology and media science from the University of Oslo. Currently project manager/special projects for the Scandinavian music industry conference by:Larm. With the company since 1999 as occasional tour manager, etc, and as video producer since 2001.

Educated at Nordic Theatre School in Århus, Denmark, and postgraduate from The Arts Ed. Drama School in London. Has great experience with choir work and plays the cello in a band. Has been with the company since 2006. Also cast in The Orchestra.

Hanne Gjerstad Henrichsen
The Convent, The Experiment

Born 1978 in Bergen. Educated at GITIS Scandinavia, Århus 2001-04. Has worked for Haugesund Teater, Oslo Teater Ensemble, and Temte Productions as well as NRK-radio and drama. Has been with the company since 2007. Also cast in The Orchestra.

Marte Stolp

Trained at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, London, 1995-1998.
Has been attached to various theatres ; Hålogaland Teater, Riksteatret, Nationaltheatret and Trøndelag Teater ( 5 years ) doing straight plays as well as musicals.
This is her first season with the company.

Lena Kristin Ellingsen
The Convent , The Experiment

Trained at Baardar Academy of Musical Arts and the Norwegian Academy of Theatre. Since she graduated in 2004, she has worked at severeal different theatres, playing both dramatic and musical parts. Her last role was Wendla in Spring Awekening at Oslo Nye Teater. Lena also plays one of the main characters in the television series ”Himmelblå” for the Norwegian Broadcasting Company.

Ulrike Quade performs in the Writer. She has written the script together with Jo Strømgren, and has designed and made the puppets.

Mikkel Are Olsen

Studied dance at “Statens balletthøgskole” now known as Khio from 2001-2004, and have worked with different stage art since. The lates is “ Unge Hamsun”, ”Baller”, ”Singin in the rain”, “The fairyqueen”, “Lille Eyolf” ,”Tørst” and “Hunting for Nora”. Got kicked out of the football team at the age of 7 for ruff play..

Stian recently graduated from Modern- and Contemporary Dance at the Oslo National academy of Arts. He choreographed “Preg” for the New Norwegian Dance Festival in 2009, and produced and choreographed the performance “Cocooning” in 2007. This is his debut as a professional dancer.

Sverre Magnus Heidenberg
A Dance Tribute to the Art of Football

Educated as a dancer and dance teacher from the University of Stavanger, and the University Collage of Dance (Danshögskolan) in Stockholm, Sweden. Has worked with choreographers like Marta Liclyter, Kenneth Tillman, Irene Hultmann, Peter Svenzon, Kaisa Gjerts, Charlotta Öferholm, Björn Elisson, and Örjan Andersson, amongst others. This is his first project with JSK.

Kai-Anders Ryan was born in Nord-Trøndelag 05.03.86. He recently graduated from Modern- and Contemporary Dance at the Oslo National academy of Arts (Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo). This is his debut as a professional dancer. He’s also a big fan of Liverpool.

Aaron Cromie – is a Philadelphia based theatre artist who works as performer, director, teacher, writer and mask and puppet designer. He recently performed with American clown, Bill Irwin, in The Happiness Lecture. Aaron is a graduate of the Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre, teaches at the University of the Arts and is a founding faculty member of the Headlong Performance Institute.
