Visiting Oslo's newly opened cultural hotspot

This Saturday, 16th April, Jo Strømgren Kompani will perform our children’s production The Kitchen at Sentralen in Oslo. Sentralen is Oslo’s newest performance venue, and the biggest workshop in the country for creative cultural and innovation forces. We are excited to be part of their Saturday children’s program!

Tempo, timing and interactions are gleefully precise, and the performance is filled with energy and enthusiasm.
NRK Kulturnytt, Norway

The Kitchen is Jo Strømgren Kompani’s first production made specifically for children and has since its premiere in 2013 been performed more than 250 times both in schools, theatres and festivals in Norway and abroad.

This Saturday, The Kitchen can be seen at Oslo’s new and innovative cultural venue, Sentralen. Right in the heart of Oslo is the building that used to be home to the oldest savings bank in Norway, and has now been converted into a unique building with six fantastic venues for cultural experiences. Sentralen is also the workplace for over 350 creative people producing a range of cultural expressions and working to find new solutions to social challenges. And in charge of the food and drink in the restaurant and ground floor café is some of the most exciting chefs in Norway. The aim for Sentralen is to become one of our capital city’s most vibrant meeting places for people who love going to concerts, discussing social challenges or enjoying an excellent meal. As well as being a centre for the dissemination of culture and great ideas, Sentralen also has modern rehearsal and production rooms, and attractive meeting and conference facilities that are available for hire.
